Hello and welcome, my name is Alithea.
I am a Clinical Psychologist located in central Brisbane, Australia. I primarily support people with anxiety.
You might seek support to help deal with anxiety for a number of reasons. These may include emotional or mental health concerns, distressing experiences, relationship issues, or other challenges.
Perhaps you have been diagnosed with generalised anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress or a related disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or a specific phobia.
Maybe you have experienced trauma or adjustment challenges, either in your childhood or more recently. Perhaps you are experiencing interpersonal or relationship difficulties.
Or it could be that you are struggling with eating or body related concerns, self-esteem difficulties, or other issues of self.
Regardless of what brings you in to therapy, I will work with you to help you understand your problems, define your goals, and support you as you take steps to achieve them. The treatment methods we use will be the most effective ones, based on your needs and preferences
I will work with you to identify what we are going to focus on and what treatment approach will be best for you.
Some of the evidence-based methods we may decide to use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, Schema Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Along the way, we will track progress to make sure you are moving in the right direction. This may involve completing questionnaires. In addition, you will be guided to carry out regular reflection and review.

You might seek support from me as a clinical psychologist to help you deal with anxiety or other emotional or mental health concerns. Or, you might seek my input to help you de-escalate negative cycles of interaction in your relationships. Perhaps you need to access sessions online via video conferencing. Or, you may want me to liaise with others on your behalf or have me consult to your business or cause.
